Over View — Inca Trail 2D + Sacred Valley

Experience the ultimate Peruvian adventure with this comprehensive package that combines the two most iconic highlights of the Cusco region. In the afternoon, we will have a meeting with our guide to provide you with all the tour details (Briefing).

  • Day 1: Sacred Valley & Inca Culture Immersion: Our tour officially begins with an immersion into Inca culture through the Sacred Valley tour. We will visit Chinchero, Moray, and the Maras Salt Mines, concluding with an overnight stay in Ollantaytambo.
  • Day 2: Short Inca Trail Challenge: Today is the challenge of the Short Inca Trail. We begin an approximately 11 km hike (moderate to challenging) at Km 104, passing through Chachabamba and the impressive Wiñay Wayna, culminating with the entrance to Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). The night is spent in Aguas Calientes.
  • Day 3: Machu Picchu Citadel: This day is dedicated to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu with a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, finishing the package with the return train to Cusco.
📍 Day 1 : Cusco - Chinchero - Moray - Salt Mines - Ollantaytambo

At the agreed time, we’ll pick you up to start the Sacred Valley tour. First stop is Chinchero, known for its textile tradition. Then we’ll visit Moray, famous for its circular terraces. Next up are the Maras Salt Mines — close to 3,000 pools of natural salt. After that, we’ll head to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch at Rústica restaurant.

Following lunch, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo, an amazing example of Inca urban planning. The tour ends here and we’ll head to our hotel in Ollantaytambo for the night. Lunch in Urubamba is included.

📍 Day 2 : Ollantaytambo - kl104 (Chachabamba) - Wiñay Wayna - Inti Punku - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes

Our Short Inca Trail adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Ollantaytambo. We’ll take a train to KM 104, where the hike starts. We’ll begin with a 30-minute walk to the archaeological site of Chachabamba (7,382 ft / 2,250 m). From there, it’s a 4-mile hike (about 4 hours) to Wiñay Wayna (8,793 ft / 2,680 m). The trail is steep (moderate to challenging), but Wiñay Wayna rewards you with stunning Inca terraces, and we’ll have lunch there (box lunch).

After exploring Wiñay Wayna, it’s about an hour’s walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku, 8,924 ft / 2,720 m) for your first panoramic views of Machu Picchu. Finally, we’ll take a 30-minute bus ride down to Aguas Calientes (6,693 ft / 2,040 m), where we’ll have dinner and spend the night. Total distance hiked: approximately 7 miles (11 km).

📍 Day 3 : Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Our journey to the Inca Citadel continues early. We’ll take a bus from Aguas Calientes up to Machu Picchu (7,972 ft / 2,430 m) to arrive just in time for a gorgeous sunrise. We’ll do a 2-hour guided tour of the site. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, we’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes.

Once there, you’ll have free time to check out the local market or grab lunch. Finally, we’ll catch the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, where our shuttle will be waiting to bring you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving in the afternoon. Continental breakfast at the hotel is included.
